PittCon Review 2016 This week our team spent a few days at PittCon in Atlanta, Georgia. We started our visit with the Independent Laboratory Distributors Association (ILDA) conference reception on Sunday evening. As a new member of ILDA we were excited to meet a lot of our existing client members, but also new members that we had only recently become familiar with. With over 200 people in attendance the reception was very popular and a great networking opportunity to meet other ILDA members. On Monday we started out early by meeting a few clients who were exhibiting at PittCon. Most of our conversations settled around e-Procurement and the various distributors attending. There were some pretty impressive displays. One of our favorites was our chance to try out ErgoGenesis chairs and standing (height adjustable) work tables. With over 800 vendors and dozens of speakers, mini-classes, events and demos there were almost limitless things to see and do. From courses in light scattering to equipment calibration, there was something for everyone at the conference. One of the most popular speakers was 2014 Nobel Prize winner, W.E. Moerner. Dr. Moerner’s would be speaking on his research in chemistry and chemical physics. In talking with many of the exhibitors and attendees the consensus was that the show was a bit smaller than last year, but still very well attended. The rest of the day Monday we visited the remaining exhibitors and setup a few meetings for Tuesday, our last day at PittCon. Tuesday morning was spent visiting with potential clients and walking the expo floor. Our team headed home in the afternoon to wrap up a successful PittCon trip. We were excited to meet everyone and look forward to PittCon 2017 in Chicago!
